W przedstawionym obrazie, niełatwa przeszłość małżeństwa przeplata się z niepokojącą przyszłością za sprawą mrocznych mocy. O czym opowiada Brahms: The Boy II? Traumatyczne przeżycie sprawia, że szczęśliwe dotąd życie Lisy, Seana i ich syna Jude’a pogrąża się w kryzysie. Rodzice oddalają się od siebie, a chłopiec przestaje mówić. Nowy dom w malowniczej okolicy daje nadzieję na nowy początek. Lisa i Sean nie podejrzewają jednak, że przeprowadzka to krok w stronę prawdziwego piekła. Gdy Jude odkryje w opuszczonej posiadłości lalkę – chłopca o uroczej twarzy, cała rodzina znajdzie się w mocy mrocznych sił, z których natury nie zdaje sobie sprawy. Then in another scene of the busy N.Y.C. streets, they are shown dressed in fine clothing. I wish our history was as egalitarian as that at that time or even 100 years later. Another incongruous detail is in the attic of the so-called poor March family. This is where the March sisters put on their improvized skits. On the wall of the attic is an elaborate curtain arrangement, when one of the sisters couldn't afford the fabric for a new dress.
